Biography

Dwight N. Hopkins is an expert on contemporary models of theology, black theology, and liberation theologies. He is interested in multidisciplinary approaches to the academic study of religious thought, especially cultural, political, economic, and interpretive methods. Dwight is fostering a dialogue between those living in the United States and those living in the Third World through a project called the International Association on Black Spirituality. His focus is on the inextricable ties between religion and poverty. The final product will be one and possibly two volumes of essays produced by the group. Dwight is an ordained American Baptist minister.
